Rörstrand is a Swedish ceramics manufacturer founded in 1726.
This pottery studio has made a significant contribution to the development of Scandinavian design throughout its long history.
Especially in the mid-20th century,
Collaborating with numerous designers and artists,
I have created a wide range of works, from experimental pieces to mass-produced tableware.

Gunnar Hansson was one of the ceramic artists involved with Rörstrand.
The organic forms seen in Swedish ceramics from around the 1950s,
He is known for creating works that make the most of the texture of the soil.

In Rörstrand during this period,
In addition to renowned designers such as Gunnar Nylund and Carl-Harry Stålhane,
Studio production involving multiple artists and painters is underway.
This work, too, is a one-of-a-kind piece created within that same context.

Often, variations in the glaze and traces of manual shaping can be seen.
It has characteristics closer to a piece of art than to an industrial product.
Unlike the mass-production series,
Another characteristic is that each piece is either a one-of-a-kind creation or produced in extremely limited quantities, meaning no other similar works exist.
