The grapevines spread out across the table, creeping along the surface.
Covered in embroidery and cutwork,
This tablecloth is an overwhelming example of handcrafted workmanship.
A large medallion sits in the center.
From all four sides, bunches of grapes, vines, and leaves swirl and extend.
It is repeated rhythmically towards the edge of the fabric.
The edges are scalloped, and the drooping hem is embroidered with grapes.
Cutwork, which involves cutting out pieces of fabric and then reconnecting the holes with thread,
One of the most time-consuming techniques for white thread embroidery.
When placed on the table, the color of the wood peeks through the openwork.
This creates a lace-like shading effect.
This level of work will probably take several months.
It is the culmination of an immense amount of time poured into a single piece of cloth.
These napkins feature the same motif and thread color as the grape napkins I introduced earlier.
They can also be used as a set.
