Michael Andersen & Son were founded in the 1880s.
On the small Danish island of Bornholm
This is a ceramics manufacturer founded by Jens Michael Andersen.

Jens had been training at a local pottery workshop.
His four sons worked at the pottery workshop.
One of them developed the iconic Persian glaze technique,
He won a gold medal at the 1935 Brussels World's Fair.
The Persian technique had originality with its mosaic-like patterns.
That glaze continued to be used in many designs even into the 1960s.

This light fixture is covered in a glossy white glaze.

The lower half of the torso has several layers of overlapping rings.
Only that depression is stained a vibrant green, like young grass.
It has a horizontal striped pattern with alternating white and green stripes.

The glossy glaze reflects light well,
It looks light despite being made of ceramic.

*The socket, cord, and plug have been replaced with new ones.
