Description

Country of manufacture: Italy
Era: Around the 1970s
Material: Glass
Size: Height 28.5cm, Width 17cm

Three angelfish swim through the swaying aquatic plants.
The glass rod is melted and shaped using a burner flame.
This is an object created using a technique called lampwork (vetro a lume).

The transparent body has thin purple stripes.
The tips of the fins and the mouth are adorned with gold leaf.
It sparkles like the shimmering surface of water whenever it catches the light.
Unlike large blown glass pieces,
Delicate work created using only tweezers and a flame.

From each thin fin to the base of the curled aquatic plants,
It's filled with breathtaking handiwork.
If you place it by the window, that spot becomes a tiny world of water.
It's a quiet aquarium where time seems to stand still.
