[About Murano's mushroom lamp]
Murano, a glass island floating in the tidal flats of Venice.
In the 1970s, the mushroom lamp was created in a workshop on this island.
The mushroom cap and stem are formed from a single piece of blown glass.
This light fixture is a symbol of Italian mid-century design.
It was made in several workshops, including Venini and Vetri Murano,
Because each one is hand-blown by a craftsman,
No two vortices are exactly alike in appearance or shape.
A swirling pattern flows diagonally across the milky white glass.
This is a traditional Murano technique called Torciglione.
When the light is turned on, the vortex appears as a soft shadow,
The entire glass surface glows faintly.
When the lights are off, it serves as a white object.
When lit, it acts as a light source that changes the temperature of the space.
Bedside or windowsill,
It looks great just by placing it quietly in a corner of the bookshelf.
It's like a tiny moon.
