Description

Country of manufacture: Finland
Year: 1981
Series: Kalevala Life Plate
Manufacturer: ARABIA
Size: Approximately 20cm in diameter

ARABIA is a ceramics manufacturer founded in Finland in 1873.
I have worked on a wide range of projects, from everyday tableware to decorative pieces.
It offers an excellent balance of functionality and design.
It is known as one of the leading brands in Scandinavia.

This is an annual plate from the "Kalevala" series, designed by Raija Uosikkinen.
Kalevala is a series based on Finnish epic poems.
This is one piece from a collection produced annually since 1976.

The plate depicts a scene from the story.
The lines still have a bit of roughness,
The subdued color scheme is striking.
Although decorative,
It's not flashy, and you can hang it on the wall.
It fits nicely even when leaned against a shelf.
