[About Michael Andersen & Son]<\/p>\n
Michael Andersen & Son is a ceramics manufacturer founded in the 1880s by Jens Michael Andersen on the small Danish island of Bornholm. Jens had trained at a local pottery factory. His four sons worked at the factory, and one of them developed the iconic Persian glaze, which won a gold medal at the 1935 Brussels World's Fair. The Persian glaze was highly original, featuring mosaic-like patterns. This glaze continued to be used in many designs into the 1960s.<\/p>\n
