Gustavsberg copied it onto Swedish faience pottery.

It was produced from 1880 to 1924.

The reverse side bears a cartouche seal that reads "Gustavsberg / Asiatic Pheasants".

Items bearing this pattern name have been confirmed to have been manufactured before 1924.

About Gustavsberg

In 1640, near Stockholm

Its origins lie in a brick factory established along the Falsta Bay.

In 1825, it was converted into a ceramics manufacturer.

It became known as Gustavsberg, the "town of pottery."

In the latter half of the 19th century, they adopted British transfer printing technology.

They mass-produce practical tableware, including Asiatic Pheasants.

In the 20th century, the emphasis on design increased.

Wilhelm Kåge, who became art director in 1917

We will introduce the concept of "beautiful everyday items."

Under his successor, Stig Lindberg

It entered its golden age in the 1950s-70s.

It has grown into a leading brand representing Scandinavian mid-century design.

The period during which this plate was made, from 1880 to 1924,

Just before the design reform—as simple and honest everyday tableware,

This is from a time when it was found on the dining table in Swedish homes.
